I. THE GRIM REAPER
From his lush-woven land of stillness - a dreamy and blurry abode of twisted gothic architecture, distorted natural forms, thunderous skies and long shadows - the Grim Reaper waits for his next death-bringing assignment.
The dark information arrives on a solitary scrap of paper which is blown into his godforsaken realm by a sudden gust of infernal wind. The Reaper's boney hand effortlessly snatches the paper from the pungent blustering current and focuses his sinister-eye on the ill-fated victim's name, picture and location.
Through a portal of crackling and swirling light, he warps to Planet Earth in dark pursuit of his target. Invisible to human eyes, he ghosts through the world of the living. Controlling the Grim Reaper, you must locate your victim, approach him/her when they are alone, and visibly appear before them - causing instant death by various mundane and grisly means.
The game consists of 100 death-bringing assignments in many different locations. -
-For example:
Pay a visit to Alan Johnson in his high-rise apartment, who on seeing your dismal form will choke on a fish-bone whilst watching the ball game on TV.
On a dark isolated country lane, appear suddenly in the glare of the headlights of Betty Sullivan's sportscar causing her to swerve violently into an oncoming juggernaut.
Infiltrate a busy hospital ward and cause David Hopkins to have a second (this time fatal) heart-attack whilst in lies in an intensive care bed.
During each macabre assignment, eavesdrop on conversations and solve puzzles in order to pin-point the exact whereabouts of the chosen victims.
He is the ultimate phantom, the overlord of human destiny - *The Grim Reaper* - a new kind of stealth assassination game.

II. THE BOGEYMAN
The Bogeyman is the master of fear. He lurks in the shadows and preys on the nightmares of the innocent. He gains his strength and form by feeding off pure terror.
The year is 1888. The place: Snowflake, a quaint leafy town in New England, USA. The locals are God-fearing folk, who are generally peaceful and happy, but they are prone to believing in superstitions concerning the Devil and his many devious ways of temptation and corruption.
As the creeping and shadowy Bogeyman, your purpose is simple: in order to keep your foul self alive on the pleasant plane of human existence, you must cause as much unease, panic, fear and terror as you possibly can. If you fail to do this, you will fade away, and return to your hellish dimension of eternal torment.
Scattered throughout the town of Snowflake are 500 fear-zones - these specific areas are where you can cause fear in the hearts of innocent people.
-For example:
The cupboard in 10 year old Suzie Mulryn's bedroom. Locate this place, and in the dead-of-night as she peacefully sleeps, begin to violently rattle the cupboard doors from the inside. This should cause enough terror in the poor little girl to keep your creeping and shadowy form energized for a short time.
Another opportunity to stoke the fires of human unease is the large crucifix above the marital bed of devout Christians Jack & Mary Flannigan. Turn the crucifix upside down to create an up-turned cross - a symbol of Satan. When the couple see this diabolical omen hanging above their bed, it will severely unnerve them. This will give you a little boost of survival juice.
But the clock is always ticking. When the energy/form meter reaches zero, the Bogeyman fades away, and it's game over. Progress can only be saved after each successful inducemnt of fear in a human mind.

Most definately :)
The Grim Reaper is a strong and striking character for a game. And using the ideas from the Piers Antony book would give the game more depth and strategy. Excellent. The book sounds interesting, I might seek it out.

Oh well, I'm just glad to learn that games featuring new and different ideas are being made.
Also, when a sim dies you now get the Grim reaper arriving to take them away. Other sims in the household can plead with the Grim Reaper to spare the sim. If you are lucky, Death will agreee to a game of paper-scissors-stone, which can result in...
Your Sim being fully restored (if you win, obviously)
Your sim returning to life as a zombie, with zero'd personality and a lovely green skin texture. Nice.
Suprisingly, other sims will still sleep with a zombie, and being dead also seems to have little effect on their career.
"If you had two people coming for a job, and one of them was dead, which one would you choose?"
> I believe what you're thinking of is Ghost Master.
You are correct, have an apple oh wise one. If it catches on I bet we see a Sim Ghost expansion pack later on in the year.
"What? You're Sim died? Never Fear: Sim Ghost Is Here!"

He basically wrote a book about all of the Incarnations (War, Pestilence, Death, Nature, Time etc., so perhaps if you based Grim Reaper on the first book you could get a series going out of the sequels.
In the book, a guy tries to commit suicide but accidentally kills the Grim Reaper himself, so has to assume his role instead, and has to learn about collecting souls, when and where to catch them, how to process them (do they go to Heaven, Hell, Limbo, that kind of thing) and he has this neat management system whereby he can manipulate time in order to be present for all of the deaths that he needs to attend.
Mix that up with some of your ideas and you've got a great game in the making. I'd start getting that idea off to the developers before someone else nicks it because...
