Well £25 is the standard going price for the 600k service. Any way I think that the 600k service is really the 512k service as every where else on the site it says 512k. Unless they've only just replaced the 512k service with the 600k and havent updated the site properly.
I dont think NTL will lower the price as if the 128k is £14.99 then there not going to lower all the prices. NTL prices are the standard sort of price you would pay for that service.

I'll have to try and persuade my parents, And get the 600k/s service. Its very unlikely we'll get it though £25 a month is quite alot. If NTL lowered the price to £14.99 a month - that'd be more reasonable.

Yeah like Tom said, its too slow. XBox live will need at least 128k up and your only doing around 42k. You should consider upgrading from the 128 service and getting the 512 service.
Downstream is 112.6 kilobits per second
So with 512k connection you have the 512k down and 256k up. Microsoft will support the lowest broadband available any where in the world and thats found in America. They have a low 384/128 for there minimum connection so that would probably be the lowest speed at which XBox live can run at.
The 128K Ntl are offering is basically ISDN. So I expect the rate is 128K down and maybe 32k or 64k up. If you do have Ntl 128 try doing a speed test at www.adslguide.org.uk, and see what speeds you get for the upload. I really think that a 128k upload is needed for XBox live and I dont think that the 128k Ntl connection will provide that.

Theres only 2 types of broadband common over here and they are Cable and ADSL. ISDN 128 or 64 is NOT broadband.
Both will work fine with XBox live.
