On Sunday the Brazillian Grand Prix tok place. The race was won by Michael Schumacher in the new Ferrari who lead through most of the race. He was closely followed by his brother Ralf with Coulthard finishing 3rd fllowed by Button, Montoya and Salo.

Montoya started on pole but lost out to Michael at the start before hitting the back of him on the first lap, causing a lost front wing and a lengthy pitstop. He eventually got up to 5th after carving through the field.

Schumacher led until he let Barrichello in the old Ferrari on a light fuel load pass him. Barrichello passed everyone Raikkonen, Coulthard, Button, Trulli and Ralf Schumacher before passing his teammate after a poor qualifying. He retired from the lead with hydraulics problems.

The older Schumacher lead until the pitstops but regained the lead when Ralf pitted until the end. The new Ferrari showed itself to be fast and reliable with Schumacher looking like a world champion.

Ralf Schumacher was relatively slow at the start of the race but sped up at the end to get within half a second at the end of the race. However he was not fast in the right places to pass his brother. With an improved setup after his first pitstop he was noticebaly faster than his brother.

The two McLarens and Renaults circulated together throughout the race with the McLarens getting the advantage eventually. However Renault's Trulli and McLaren's Raikkonen retired a few laps off the finish. McLaren would be disappointed with their performance and Raikkonen failing to finish but Coulthard is relieved to get his first points this year. Renault are now clearly 4th fasted team close on the heels of McLaren. If their progress is similar to last seasons they could be winning races before long.

Salo in the Toyota raced well without incident to score his and Toyota's 2nd point of the season. His teammate Allan McNish had to retire due to lasting damage after running over Montoya's front wing. Toyota have consolidated their position in the championship and look to be a team capable of much more.

The Jaguars of Irvine and de la Rosa were faster than usual but finished just outside the points. They look capable of adding to Irvines 4th in Austalia with more points finishes.

Heidfeld and Massa in the Saubers were quite fast with Heidfeld not losing too much time to the Renaults and McLarens in the first half of the race. Both drivers retired with mechanical problems when points would have been a possibility.

All 4 Honda cars performed poorly Takuma Sato in the Jordan finished 9th folloed by BAR's Jaqcues Villeneuve. Their teammates Fisichella and Panis were forced to retire early on. Their poor performance was a combination of the Bridgestone tyres and underpowered engines. If the situation doesn't improve soon the season could turn into a disaster for Jordan and BAR

The Arrows cars were faster than their qualifying positions had indicated but Bernoldi and Frentzen were both forced into retirement. One promising thing is both cars got off the line, an improvement on the last two races.

Minardi were once again at the back of the field but were reliable. Webber finished 11th with Yoong behind Raikkonen who didn't finish in 13th. They still need a bit more work to score any more points this season.

Overall the race was quite interesting with different strategies leading to many overtaking manouveres from the likes of Barrichello, Sato and Montoya. Once again a Ferrari and a Williams collided but I doubt their will be any penalties inflicted on either Schumacher or Montoya. Michael Schumacher has extended his lead in the drivers championship but Williams keep the lead in the constructors championship.

i hope Schumacher does get penalised for what happened. I've seen it a good few times now and there's no doubt MS is almost off the track trying to block Juan Pablo. There was nothing JP could do unless he had to go onto the grass MS was so far off the racing line. There is nothing he can say to explain it away apart from the fact he's a unfair driver. He has a go at JP at Malaysia for not giving him enough room and now here he is going across the full length of the track just to stop JP getting past.
Of course he won't get punished because it's one rule for Schumacher and one rule for the rest

I think Montoya needs to remember that the race is not always won on the first lap.

Apparently he's going to do the same to Schumacher next time, he's just asking to be penalised. How come it's always a Ferrari and a Williams that collide at the start? All four drivers need to be more careful at the start and hopefully getting put back 10 places at the start will be an incentive for them to calm down.

Montoya is plotting revenge for the Schumacher incident. I didn't see anything wrong with it myself.
