I was just sitting here watching the news. They have pictures of the Isreali army opening fire on a group of peace demonstrators.

As the B.B.C. crew were filming this heinous act they too were fired upon with what they believed to be live rounds.

Now I am just reporting this as fact. I have no real feelings as to the rights and wrongs of either side, but the feelings that i do have is that they both seem to be as bad as eachother.

The Isreali's may well say they are on a crusade against what they believe to be acts of terrorism but this seems to be just that. A repehensible attack on clearly innocent people.

Now I am not a religious person but i think that it is such a shame that places like Bethlehem and Jerusalem, the birth place of Jesus Christ and the 'holy city' are slowly becoming more synonymouse (thinks it's spelt right)with acts of war.

It's a terrible shame to see yet more innocent people caught up in the growing mayhem over there, especially while they were trying to deliver aid to Palestinians. Their mission had a healthy dose of pragmatism too however, and I'm sure they can't have minded making the Israeli Army look bad at the same time as publicise their cause. We shouldn't forget that just two days earlier, they had vowed to be by Arafat's side until the end. I think both parties are as much to blame as each other, with two leaders incapable of talking about peace. With constant retribution, leading to further attacks, it is just a cycle of violence that one of them needs to break, and I personally don't care who. It is not working at the moment, but it's showing no sign of halting.

I personally blame them both equally, so I think it's deplorable for a so-called peaceful organisation to take sides in a conflict that has shown us that we need arbitration, not retaliation.

Are they really war crazed ? Religion is at the centre of this conflict and it behind both sides constant fighting. If anything, they're religion crazed ! War isn't the best of ways of resolving problems, but when the rest (a majority anyway) of the world turns the conflict into an Anti-US thing, and the rest spend their time trying to stop the Anti-Us mob, then what does anyone expect to happen ?

Every time a topic about this conflict is posted here it degenerates into a US bashing exericse for many, few actually even care about whats happening and instead use it as their own little hobby horse for ranting on.

At the end of the day both sides beliee the other threatens their very religion and way of life, and whether the Bible Lands are genuine or not, they will kill to defend them at all costs, unless the international community drops its own agendas and actually does something. Many countries criticise US foreign policy, yet who is now being called to solve the current crisis ? The US.

Not surprisingly the US is reluctant, and I don't blame them after many countries, apart from our own, have heavily criticised the US in everything it has done recently.

Yes it is a shame and yes we want it to end - but it was all prophesied and is happening as written.
