Why?
Well if developers are doing it to make the graphics look good then hey should think again. It looks OK but is not worth putting a games reputation on the line just for flexible graphics.
Take(yes) Zelda GC. It has had people critasize its cel-shading left right and center. I think this has had A direct effect on the games credability. Perfect dark zero is now another cel-shaded game. It looks really poor. Like a gameboy advance shoot-em up.

The only game so far that, for me, uses cel-shading to its advantage is Jet-set radio.
There are many cel-shaded games being made. Soon we may get tired of it.

they could make it DETAILED and BEAUTIFUL! that looks worse THAN GOLDENEYE! GOOLLLDDDEEENEEYYEE!
