That's true - not all SCART switcher boxes are RGB compatible, as they're not all fully wired. It may be worth asking SR first. For example, I bought the Havoc Pyramid Command Centre that SR sell, and it's only wired for composite, not RGB.

I recently bought an SCART switch box from Game, and that was also only wired for composite. (Composite is the picture you get using the cable that came with your PS2 - adequate, but inferior.)

If you want one that works for sure, go to your local PowerHouse store, and get a B-TECH BT22 SCART Video Control. This is a manually-switched box which definitely gives an RGB picture - I know because I have one. Price when I got mine was £9.99.

This does, however, only switch between two connections. If you think you may need more, they do make bigger units. I recently bought a B-TECH BT21 Mk. III, which switches between 3 SCART connectors and/or 2 composite inputs. This cost £19.99.

Hope this helps!

Oh... don't bother connecting your PS2 via the socket on your video recorder, as that will give you a composite signal, not an RGB signal.

Your PS2 should be connected to your TV directly via the switcher box.

You'll need a SCART splitter box.

Special Reserve sell them - a 2-way and a 5-way. Type "scart splitter" (without the quotes) into the search box at the top of this page and click the 'Go!' button.

RGB is sent down the standard scart socket but uses different pins, I didn't know if my TV supported it until I tried it. If your TV was bought in the last few years chances are it supports both 60hz and RGB.

does an RGB cable go where the yellow, white and red cable goes? or is an actual scart socket needed? as i said i have a scart socket but it is used by my video/sky box.

Check your tv manual or if it dosent say you can do what i did and buy an RGB cable and hope it works anyway. I think most tvs do accept it unless yours is ancient.
