I was thinking of buying a shoot 'em up for my PC, but am completely confused as to which one to buy. I like the large, open spaces seen in Time Splitters on the PS2, but I don't like the closed corridors of other games I've tried (Unreal). The game must have a split screen option for four players. As yet I'm undecided, Counter Strike, Quake, Unreal, global Ops?

Soldier of Fortune 2 is good, and the forthcoming Project IGI 2 is also supposed to be excellent.
Well I'd say No One Lives Forever 2. It's not a game based around the military, instead around spies, but it's the best damned FPS I've ever played. The online multiplayer can support up to 4 players in co-operative missions, no split screen I'm afraid, but PCs really can't cope with 4 people crowded round a small monitor.
