Now we know that Rare will eventually write for them and Microsoft have other in house companies writing games as well, but for now their leaflets are the main communication with the general public and they show little in the way of original material.
Morrowind is great to have on a console, but it's also on PC and most RPG fans have a PC already, Most of the other big titles are coming out on PC or the other consoles.
So that leaves Dead or Alive: bouncy women (I mean Xtreme beach volleyball), Sega GT2002 (which is hopefully better than their last GT game on the Dreamcast), Unreal Championship (looks promising, but will it be substantially different from the other games?), Crazy Taxi 3 (buggy original version not withstanding, it's still not as good as the first Crazy Taxi), Blinx (looks very good and original, but has it had enough publicity?) among the few remaining games.
Overall there are around 150 games either out or coming out for the festive season, it may sound a lot, but it's nothing compared to the PS2 line-up or even the Gamecube's mass of original software. Xbox owners will know that the console is capable of the best games and some amazing graphics, so hopefully we will get to see some more software that proves Halo wasn't a one-off.
Of course, the Gamecube is still not quite in safe ground yet, but Mario Sunshine has been advertised to death and will encourage mass sales of Gamecubes at Christmas, plus all the great original stuff like Pikmin, Doshin etc will just add to the choice of the new console owners.
I'm not biased either, I own all three platforms and spend a lot of time on the Xbox, but I'm worried that the console choice might slip back to 2 at a time that the market looks able to support all 3. I hope I'm wrong, Microsoft may have some killer titles hiding around the corner that ol' Bill will suddenly produce from behind his back, chanting 'tada'. We'll have to wait and see.

mmmmmm lysdexyia.
"Whats a muslims favourite piece of eyeware?"
"Synagoggles!"
Of course it was only funny because a Synagog (or however you spell it) is Jewish (or it's the other way round :\)
Did you buy them at google.com?
I had a choice.
*breaths in*
Go out to Burger King for lunch, or go upstairs and play the large demo of Splinter Cell again.
I did. and. It ruled. Very very much.
I shot out a light, put on my heatgoogles, placed a camera under the door and saw what was on the other side, I opened the door and ran behind the person who wasn't facing me and jumped and placed my legs on each of the narrow walls on the left and right of me. I was above him. It ruled. He then walked past again and I killed him by knocking him out with a gun.
I carried his body under the stairs and went into night vision to go into the labs. Ah it was fun.
Although I am scared the rest of the game will just be more of the same.
:-D
Still, Gamecubs is best, I was checking the release list all the games known.
It's only the dedicated games or electronics shops that sell anything Xbox related. After reading through newsgroups, it seems the shops just don't think they can make enough money on Xbox games - and after seeing the sales figures, maybe that's true.
> i feel sorry for local xbox owners. It seems all the local game shops
> near me don't even sell anything Xbox.
I noticed that the other day.
In Northampton, it seems that only the dedicated games shops and major electronics chains (Dixons etc.) sell Xbox stuff.
Woolworths, WH Smiths, Boots etc. all have PS2, Gamecube and PC stuff, but no Xbox.
Even the local Tesco (Weston Favell, Northampton - one of their biggest stores, and where I bought my Xbox on launch day) have got rid of their pod, and have precious little in the way of games.
I find it a little alarming, to be honest.
Good post. :)
mmmmm chicken
