This may sound like a stupid question, but in football how much of scoring goals do you think is down to luck. In some games teams can have loads of chances but not score at all but in other games they can have 3 or 4 chances and score all of them. Sometimes the ball hits the post from 30 yards out and goes in but other times it misses the goal completely. The goals may appear brilliant but is this just luck. All goals are a combination of skill and luck in different amounts. Do you think luck plays a big enough part to win matches or championships or goal of the months.
30 yrd goals require a bot of luck yes...but when you look at how many long range goals are scored in the spanish and Italian leagues you know it requires a lot of skill.
there is a certain amount of luck involved but you have to have the skill to convert the chances
Sometimes I get a feeling in matches of what the final result will be. Take the champions league final '99 - Bayern vs. United. When Bayern hit the post and crossbar you could almost tell that it was like destiny was going to be a United win. I think that some goals are down to luck, some to great team play and some to the individual god-given talent of players
