When someone mentions ghostly spirits, mediums who seem to be able to predict the future, or even people who seem to have managed to harness telekinetic abilities, we tend to scoff and say that it is beyond all human reason. The fact is that we are no closer to discovering all of the secrets of life than we were all those years before television had been invented.
Many strange phenomena that had previously been discounted by the scientific fraternity have since been given rational explanations and have been accepted into the science of today. It wasn’t so long ago that people laughed at the idea of handheld communications devices which people could carry around and talk to others on, but mobile phones are an accepted part of life now (whether you like them or loathe them, it seems!).
Strange Phenomena is also pushed to the back of scientific examination due to those who wish it to remain a mystery. There are many that would balk at a world where we understood every little strange occurrence, and rightly so if it took the mystery of life away. But never fear, there are many things that may never be explained by those men in white coats (no, the other ones). Some of us still believe in magic, and not the Paul Daniels card-up-the-sleeve kind either, there are far too many things in this world to be taken for granted, including many encounters with people and creatures that perhaps many would rather not think to hard about.
No government cover-up could really hide anything major, they don’t exactly do very well at the day to day stuff as it is, but when the forces that be want us to know about something, you can rest assured that they we will find out.
