Now come on PS2 is coming out soon, GameCube is revealed, so is the GameBoy Advance and the X-Box is also set to come.
What more do we want?
Well we would like less consoles to buy next time. No there's nothing wrong with any of the forthcoming consoles but look at how many there are. Only somebody like Bill Gates could afford that. Maybe he will to see what faults they have! Developers must think of us first otherwise we will to other companies.
Luckily the hype has enabled the PS2 to sell out rapidly.
But if we find a cheaper equally good console we will snap it up!

There are good points and bad points about having a range of consoles all at once to choose from.

Firstly, there are only a number of 3rd party games firms and they often get given more money to program exclusivly for one company, so if you like certain games from two companies it becomes more likely that you will have to buy two consoles or go without a game.

Next, The market can probably cope with all the consoles, but the companies battle so hard with each other that large advertising and sales tactics mean that one or two companies usually end up with all the punters and others get left with huge bills because fewer people buy their consoles and the software for them. This then leads to 3rd Party Dev. dropping the console in favour of one that will sell more copies of their games.

But on the plus side....er...they all look good together on the shelf (if you can afford them all) and it gives people more choice if they don't like one machine.

(Cheaper, as powerful console, if not moreso? Where have I heard that before...
Gamecube perhaps? It seems that hype over-rules power and games, as if this was a perfect world, people would be buying the console with the best games and the most powerful specs, and that would be a fight out between X-Box and Nintendo. Unfortunatly, the mind numbing affects that advertising has on some peoples brains, not me I may add, causes the console that has been hyped and adverised to shreads to sell the most.
Unfortunatly, Sega kinda forgot to do this, and this has brought them not much more than misery, hopefully, a giant ad campain for Shenmue is j u s t around the corner, ready to die for the sake of the great fast blue one.)
