Modem goes into PC. Network cable comes out from network card in PC into the Xbox.

You have to have a broadband connection that your PC is connected to.
You have to download the software from gamespy. Run the software, connect your Xbox to your PC and then you can play online.
The software on the PC tricks the Xbox into thinking that you're playing a link up game with another Xbox. Which, technically you are. I guess...
