Nintendo seems to be going from strength to strength at the moment, not only is Resident Evil the best remake of a game ever, but their new games list for the Gameboy Advance and the Gamecube grows more impressive by the day.
The new soccer game from Sega looks fantastic and based on my brief play of the Resident Evil import, the future of the series is looking very good. I was beginning to think that my excitement over finally playing a UK Super Monkey Ball and Rogue Leader would be followed by a downer, but now Sega have announced SMB, Virtua Tennis and even Crazy Taxi for the Gameboy Advance. How the hell am I supposed to get out of the house with this lot coming out?!
Not that the other consoles are boring at the moment either. The Playstation 2 has just had some fantastic titles out which will ensure my games list never grows any shorter. Ico is simply stunning, I’ve played through the demo, then begged my friend to let me have a go on the actual game, it really is that good. Herdy Gerdy is something else that I would love to have in my collection, it’s just so unlike any other game around.
Then there’s the Xbox, which I haven’t got the money for (or the fork lift truck to take it home in). Halo, Jet Set Radio and Project Gotham are both superb and I’m waiting until I can test some more of the games out, although I’m disappointed that a lot of the other games are merely ports or copies of previous PS2 games.
Either way you look at it, there will be plenty enough games to keep me going through the next year or so and plenty more excitement after the Gamecube’s Launch too. I love gaming soooo much right now!
Quite a bit has been released this month already, including the X-box, and the GameCube will be here in May. So apart from Aprill, the year should be full of brand new game and console releases!
I think that a month like this is good. As you can save up during the time, and also play the new games you have got while you await your next purchases.
And it does look like a great year for Nintendo mainly, and also quite good for the others.
> It certainly is a golden age for gamers
btw superb tagline!
Not really the golden age. That will hit us around Christmas when we have Metroid, StarFox and Mario.
*faints*
I am really looking forward to the Gamecube and its version of Resident Evil, and gathering by what you said pb, it sounds like it is going to be brilliant.
For the PS2, I am really looking forward to Virtua Fighter 4, and Stuntman isn't a long way off either.
Certainly is a great time to be a gamer.
