After months and months and months of waiting, I finally got my lovely iBook yesterday. But, I'm trying to use the net on it and signed up for Freeserve, like the idiot that I am. Anyways, I connect to the web, but after 1 minute every single time, the damn thing disconnects and as you can imagine, it's rather annoying.

Their help guides are useless, as they show you how to do it in an old version of Macs OS and I can't see anything that could be doing it.

Help appreciated.

Well, I've got my BT connection that I can try, but the way BT shows you how to set it up ain't much use, as they're using OS 9.2, I've got OS X and OS 9.2 on this computer, but changing over to 9.2 makes me want to kill myself in rage.

Try connecting with someone else, maybe Freeola? That's what I always do whenever I have problems. Then you can isolate, as Luke says, whether it's your problem or theirs.

So you should be jealous :), although the 14.1 model wouldn't have gone a miss. I'm still trying to figure it out, but I'm sensing that I'll have to ring up FreeServes 50p a minute phone line to get it.

You need to isolate the problem..

Is it a problem with OSX connecting to the internet in general? Try connecting to a different service provider (your BT account), and if you can, update the version of OSX you're using (although that's probably chicken and egg..)

Perhaps a phonecall to Freeserve wouldn't go amiss. I'm sure they're aware of any problems that their OSX-using population are having.

Damn I'm jealous.. I'd love one of those lappies, and OSX moreso :D
