This should be quiite an easy one or all of you PC buffs.

You see, I've got a desk with a panel on it, where I keep my keyboad, and every now and then it falls off the back.

Now after this happening hundreds of times, I have finally encountered a problem.

When I go to press @, I have to press shift+2. When I press shift +', I get "

I can't press the pound sign either (all I get is #)

This also happens on loads of other key's.

So what do I have to do to get it back to it's normal setting?

This is not a hardware problem. Windows thinks you're using a US keymap. Use the control panel to set it to GB again.

Leave it to rest for a while, maybe two or three days, then see if the circuitry inside has got all it's marbles back together.

The thing it is doing is quite simple, but fixing it isn't. If leaving it as I suggest doesn't help, come back later and I'll think about it a bit more.
