HOLLYWOOD PLAYERS
SPONSORED BY PLAYSTATION'S THE GETAWAY DEVELOPED BY SONY'S TEAM SOHO
TUESDAY 29 OCTOBER AT 2PM THE OTHER CINEMA
With games inspiring films and films inspiring games, and sequences and story structures of the summer blockbusters and popular games mimicking each other, we ask if independent filmmakers can get in on the action.
Is it only high budget action/adventure movies that can create additional revenue through game licensing? Is there a market for games outside the mainstream in the same way that independent films exist parallel to Hollywood? If so, what should writers and producers consider during the film's development stage to capture the interest of games developers? What stories and types of characters cross-over into games? How does a producer license a film to games developers? With Jeremy Bolt (Producer Resident Evil), Brendan McNamara (Director of 'The Getaway' Team Soho)
Chun Wah Kong (Lead Designer ' The Getaway' Team Soho) Simon Wood (Production Designer 'The Getaway' Team Soho) Katie Ellwood (Assistant producer 'The Getaway' Team Soho), Robert Downing (Senior Associate, Intellectual Property Team, Dorsey and Whitney), John Byrne (Managing Partner, Dorsey and Whitney), Kirk Ewing (Managing Director of ICM I) and Claes Loberg (Director Cocojambo).
All ticket holders to Hollywood Players can take part in a free prize draw to win a Sony PlayStation plus a copy of The Getaway.
