Garage?! Urgh!
Is what I normally think.
But not this time.
I'll be buying this ablum tomorrow. It's, quite simply, fantastic. How do I know this? Well, I've heard 8 of the tracks. If you go to:

You can have a listen as well.
Now, even if you don't like garage music, can you do me a favour? Can you go to the link up there, and listen to a track called 'The Irony Of It All’, please? Cheers.
Don't worry about having to wait for it to download, as it's streamed. Also, it actually sounds half decent on my 56k modem.
Anywway, can you give it a listen and let me know what you thin? Cheers.
Such a shame that the charts are so full of pap when there is so much quality in the UK music scene right now.
So I'll sit here twiddling my thumbs till it arrives.
I do like dance music, but this is nothing like dance at all.
It's just some bloke expressing his views of the world around him. One of the tracks, 'The Irony Of It All’ is in a similar style to Bill Hicks.
A typical violent lager lout and a weed smoking student having an 'argument' to the music. Very interesting and though provoking.
The album is only 11 quid, so go for it.
You can always take it back if you don't like it...
... is it really worth getting even if I don't like garage or dance music?
I can't listen to streamed music and my audiogalaxy's up the spout, so I've not been able to hear it for myself, but it got much praise from NME and it's being recommend here too...
It rocks!
I hate garage, but this is just so damn spot on it's unbelievable!
The best thing about it is the lyrics. Most other garage stuff I've heard has been spouting on about a load of poo. But you can tell this hasn't been written to sell, it's been written to get a point across.
A worthy addition to anyones CD collection.
The lyrics to "The Irony Of It All" by The Streets are fantastic, they really put things into perspective in an almost Bill Hicks type way...
Anyone who likes this should also check out Arab Strap (esp. The First Big Weekend, Girls of Summer and Trippy): it's the same sort of blend of cool almost spoken-word lyrics and beats-oriented production. Very cool.
