THE MULTI-GAME LINK UP
Imagine in the distant future, about 2 months before the release of the Playstation 3, there was a device you could purchase for the PS2 called the multi-game link up.This would be the last ever item released for the PS2.
The brief description on the back of the box says: Ever wanted to create your own games? Now you can with the quick and simple Multi-Game Link Up. This is the next step in gaming evolution. That’s not allot of info so I’ll explain the rest. The device itself is a disc. When you switch on your playstation 2 a list of games will come up. Every game released will be in the list from Grand Theft Auto: Chicago 1928 and Final Fantasy XIII to Metal Gear Solid Substance 3: you can go the ninja this time part 2.
What you do is simply pick one game from the list and wait 5 minutes then pick another and wait 5 minutes again and you will play these two games combined into one game.
Example 1: This Is Pro Evolution Football 2-003
This is when you mix Pro and TIF together with astounding results. The game play is from pro but you have the ability to dive and commit deliberate fouls. The menus and options and real player and team names are in from TIF but don’t worry Master league and Umbro training are back as well. The commentary is from Peter Brackley and Peter Drewery. The graphics is also from pro, which is thankgodable because its hard to play good football with balooney graphics.
Example 2 : Resident Hill: I’ve lost Veronica
When you mix Resident Evil: Code Veronica X and Silent hill 3 this is the outcome. The story is about Claire Redfield who has lost her younger sister in a creepy place called Silent Hill, whilst on the run from umbrella. You have to find her but the whole town has been overrun by zombies and other such outrageous creatures so you must once again find weapons like the shotgun and the metal pipe. There will be good original puzzles like put the emblem in the hole to get the key to unlock the door to the sewers that’s kept the resident evil series alive all these years. But you must be warned that it’s the scariest game ever created (behind “Tweenies take over the world”).
Example 3: Max of honour: asspayne
This is when Max Payne and Medal of honour frontline are mixed. You are a soldier who is a homosexual and his boyfriend is killed at the start of the game in battle by an army who have took an unknown substance. The military believe it’s something called Weetabix but nothing is confirmed. You then start a one man war (literally) on this army of assassins with only the L1 bullet time to help you. A good game but the endings sad were the guy finds out that there was no war it was just an experiment by the aesir corporation.
Final example : Gran Theft Fantasy X
That’s right in one sole example you can combine Gran Turismo 3, Grand Theft Auto and Final Fantasy X which is simply the best game ever created. Your name is Tidus Vercetti you are a gangster who is two timed by his old boss Syn Forelli who sends you back in time to the 80’s.
You get a new boss called Wakka “the don” 4 me.plz JNR who happens to own the biggest car manufacturing company in the world. Your job is to wait for the future by falling asleep whilst wakka and his friends waste time with boring pointless dialogue which goes on till 2003 were you can finally get revenge. If you get bored then you can cause havoc on the streets with the all new weapon the chainsaw or you can use black magic instead, your choice.
Yeah, well it might still happen you never know. Notice that all games are is another game that’s evolved into something better (or worse).Mario is just walking aroud saving the damsel in distress, very basic. Top gear on the SNES is just mario in a car. Gran Turismo is just Top gear but 3D and bigger. Driver is just Gran Turismo but Mario is now a criminal. GTA 3 /Vice City is Driver but Mario can now get out and do whatever he wants but he can still race, drive and be a criminal just in a better package, the list is endless. Evolution is all it is.
