Yes the triple jump looked really impressive, but I missed the sodding platform!
Is it just me that finds myself playing Super Mario Sunshine, and getting caught up fooling around, rather than keeping your mind on the obective in hand?
And how many more times will I jump from a platform, and then find myself squirting water rather than hovering? All that's needed to avoid this is a little concentration, but no, that won't do. I'll jump blind and hope for the best, then shake my head thinking how foolish I've been when another life is lost.
The think about Mario Sunshine though, is thit rewards you for your curiousity. If you're wondering what's on top of a platform, and lose a couple of lives wall jumping to the top, chances are that there will be a blue coin sitting there.
So, cockiness or ill-preparedness costs lives, but experimentation is the way forward.
This game rules, apart from the 359degree rotating camera. Why can't it go full circle?
"Last night when playing on Noki Bay and you get the diving gear right, and underwater you collect coins to get more air. Well I got myself 125 coins and on my way to get the star I noticed a stream of coins in the water which lead to a blue one at the bottom so I dove down ignopring my life meter as I thought it would refil as I collected coins. But no. And I died. Gah."
I did that too! That bloody fish kept eating me, so I couldn't get back-up to the top quickly-enough and I soon ran-out of air! But there was no Star waiting for me when I saw that stream of coins. The good thing about Blue Coins is that you can risk lose a life to get them because you can select to Save as you get them - like with Shines.
I often sacrifice Mario's life - just for one Blue Coin.
I get cocky with the Triple jumps and the rest too, but they make the game a great laugh to play. I also try to Hover with the wrong Nozzle a lot too. It's amazing how often I rely on the Hover Nozzle...!
And then when you come to your first level without it, you feel lost!
The only other Gamecube games I've really done that on are Pikmin and Smash Brothers.
Don't suppose your interested in Ninty-Con are you? We could do with more grown up responsible types like yourself :)
*IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT TO NOKI BAY DON'T READ THIS*

Oh and yeah I always get lost exploring and forget about the shine at hand. Then I attempt another star and the level has changed with something new on and I go exploring again. Fun, fun.
Bah.
Still ruled though :-D
The camears is odd, but perfectly workable.
The exploration is just perfect. The best ever, apart from OOT, I think.
Also the experimentation thing, I have a habit of collecting red coins, getting to the 7th coin and then noticing something intresting, me being the imaptient fool that I am, I always have to go and look straight away which usually ends up with me plummeting to my doom and mucho swearage filling the air.
Great game though..
