For everyone (bar Tony) earning some serious mollah to retire at the age of 35 is, to say the least, a high prioity goal. Fortunatly for us, games are there yet again to teach us humble mortals another lesson in life - how to get money and how to get it fast.
Roller Coaster Tycoon - If there's one thing this theme park managment sim has taught the nation it's got to be the ability to rip small people off. The idea is simple yet so few entrepreneurs have found sucess this way - build a few rides and attractions along with a hotdog stand or two and get guests to pay out of of their little noses for the privilage to be merely present in your park.
Initial Loan - £10,000
Income - £1,000+ (pre week)
Wages - £500 (£50 to hire a handyman per week? Bargin!)
Expenses - £150,000 (building a suspened looping inverter coaster is risky buisiness)
Gimme Ma Monah factor: 5 - Expect to have to work hard for your cash. It's no good letting people complain about your 'disguisting paths' whilst you sit in your office counting the G's, it just dosn't happen.
Championship Manager - You don't have to look at Sir Alex Ferguson's bling twice to realise he's one serious earner. Who'd have thought that telling a few men to run around on some grass for an hour and a half could be so finacially benifical. Well....Eidios did actually and in an attempt to tell us just how benifical it is they went and made a game were you can spend £100 million on Ronaldo to play in goal.....sweet.
Inital Loan - £0-150 million (depends who you want to manage....just stay clear of Wimbledon.)
Income - £1,000-75,000 (per week)
Wages - £5,000-£250,000 (don't be too jealous, it all gets taxed anyway)
Expensise - £0-80 million (depeneds if your biding for David Beckham or not)
Gimme Ma Moneh factor: 8 - Watch a load of blokes kick a ball about every sunday, not too hard then.
Grand Theft Auto - C'mon, we all knew that being a thug was the simplest and most cost effective way of earning a couple of quick bucks. And if it wasn't for those damn dirty morals/princibles/life sentances then we'd all be swimming in 50 quid notes.
Initial Loan - £0 (unless you a loan shark....then you'll be loaning it out....so -£50,000 then)
Income - £ just think of a number with a good few zeros (general thugary pays dividends....apparantly)
Wages - £ 0-100,000 (so will you be wanting a gang or not?)
Expensie - £5,000 (you have to buy a sniper rifle to make that hit? no biggie just take it out of 'petty cash')
Gimme Ma Moneh factor: 10 - so long as your not sat in prison then your larffin'
Zelda - Who said there wasn't any money in the adventuring market? Not Nintendo thats for sure and to prove it, the good lad Link has being putting away a good few rupees in every adventure we've seen him in so far. Better yet, there is no competition in the market. It's pratically a gold mine with the mine shafts already dug, pick axes next to the entrances, 50 workmen willing to work for free and a big sign seeing 'free gold'. What are you waiting for? Hurry up and get the sword and shield out...
Inital Loan - £ Oh please, course not.
Income - £ as much as you can find (remember, cutting down bushes will always reveal a rupee or two)
Wages - £ nothin' (unless Zelda wants a 50% split.....typical.)
Expense - £50 (buying a new elf suit now again isn't too much of a burden on the cash flow)
Gimme Mah Money: 512 - stupid not to really.
Having pointed out the main issues stressed by games when it comes to making money, you should have hopefully gainged a helpful insight into which markets are best when it comes to making a few bob. Games have taughts us for decades the importence of earning money, it'd be ignorant not to pay attention...

Yes but it very easy to run into some serious negative equity when running a themepark, typically a profit will be out of reach for a good year after opening, then you have maintenance, electricty and a shed load of other fixed/variable costs. Keeping the public happy is probably the hardest job in the world, if your park is crap, you aint going to get many people through the turnstyles.

I think the biggest problem with being a football manager is the fact that one wrong move could have you out on your ear. If you spend a lot of cash on a player, and he isnt performing the fans will have you hung out of the window by your silk tie. Plus i think you need to be good with tactics and stuff.

Being a thug may be a quick way to earn a buck or two, but the law will quickly catch up on you, even in grand theft auto it doesnt take too long for the long arm of the law to take an interest in your antics. And the shower room confrontation that is synonymous with prison would keep me on the straight and narrow. More often than not its the prisoners that run the prison.

Slicing the grass to get a quick buck is actually a job, its called a grasscutter. However there are more expenses than shelling out for an elven suit, there is also food, clothes, getting a place to crash and buying weapons.
