But, with some of these games: MGS, MGS2 ZOE, to name a few, they seem a bit short too me.
MGS on the PSX1 was a great game and made the PSx1 what it is, but it was a little too short. Then came Silent Hill, which I thought was a lengthy game, especially with the seven different endings.
Then with the anticipation of MGS2 on the PS2, It was going to be the best game ever. Everyone thought it would last forever, the great graphics, excellent gameplay etc... What a game it was going to be. Then after my aveareg of Twenty hours of gameplay the game was over. Maybe yes, I haven't got all the dog tags and finished every difficulty level, but all that is, is replaying the game over and over until you have done it all. Gets a bit boring in that respect.
I think MGS2 was a little too short, and then when I realised, on our very special extra DVD, that they left quite a bit out of the game, especially the chinese man, I was very disappointed. MGS2 could have been a bit longer, after I kicked Solidus' a"%, I thought yeah, come on, wheres Snake, lets roam the city and destroy Arsenal Gear and kill Ocelot. However, arrived Snake and the game was over, you didn't even realise who the patriots were. What an ending it would have been to really find out who they were. Anyway, we got a little bit of info. about them but still no names.
Konami games seem to be a bit short as they want to get them out to the public by a certain date, why? I would rather get a great game that lasts longer and has more gameplay than have it by a certain date.
WE had to have it later than first scheduled because of an extra DVD, which by the way was a great added extra.
So closing, the bigger the better, and MGS2 was a little too short for my liking. We, as the gaming public, want great games that last longer than the average game.

Well Said.
Recently completing MGS2, I realised that I rushed it! I wasn't using all the possible great stealth moves available. There's so much to do in the game that makes it long in many ways.
ZOE was pretty short, but then again it's the same situation. A game is only as short as you want it to be!
Pro Evo is a footy game, so really it isn't short. You can play it over and over again, and since it's so addictive you'll probably never stop playing it!
As for the Silent Hill series, they are not at all short!
A game is only as short as you want it to be.
Konami rules!

Hideo said that he wasn't going to do the third one, but who's to say that someone else wont?
Plus if they do make a third one, then Kojima is going to be involved in some way, no matter how big or small
MGS2 was not cut short, it had everything almost that was planned for it, the end was like a cliff hanger, like the last one did.
But are you forgetting one thing? Did you enjoy the game? How many games have you seen that are way too long and in the end just get boring? Many. Games like Tomb Raider are only long because you have to run for 10 minutes just to get to the next area. At least when the game is a little shorter than most its usually action packed.
Konami games for me are always excellent, great stories and great game play, if they only give me 2 hours of joy then thats fine for me, id rather play a short excellent game rather than a long boring one.

I don't know why, maybe they want the player to look forwrd to the

Well thats crap, I hate that, they did it with WWF Smackdown 3, and now MGS2.
They shouldn't take away decent parts of the game that are well anticipated to just boost sales, they should give use what we deserve, decent games. Anyway, if the game was brilliant we would get the sequel anyway, especially MGS3.
I thought Hideo said he wasnt going to do a third Metal Gear? I though MGS2 was the last, but after the way he ended it, he would hace to give us a third...
