Well, what I was thinking about, thats also normally rated 18, but isn't included in games much, is nudity, or sex.
There are reasons for this, well, think about it. I game with guns and blood and general killing is labeled as "Fun" which I agree. So, including sex, you couldn't participate you could only watch, which is fine! Duke Nukem, is famous for its 18 rating, but my friends, you could walk up to a pole dancer, and put a dollar bill down her panties and she would reveal her breasts!
There are various porn mags dotted around book stores and so forth. This, is great! You go and rent out and 18 film yeah? Well, most of the films will have sexual content in them, but why not games?
I might be because it would just get boring, and the producers can't think of ways to actually include sex into the game.
This is fine, but why can't 18 games, have some porn mags, or you can walk into a cinema and watch a porno or you can pick up prostitutes? GTA3, GTA3 springs to mind doesn't it? "Its rated 18 for a reason" is what SR's banner says, and yes, there is sexual content, but you can't see anything. Are producers scared or something? I think personally, that they are scared, because they don't know how us the buyers, or the media will react.
18's only mean guns, blood, killing, gore and swearing, just basically being a little tyke!
So when your out buying a new 18 game, or you are playing one of you own, just think
"Is it really 18?"
Thanks for reading

So, I dont want hundreds of porn games flooding the market, just for the games with 18 rated stickers on them to be 18. Which normally is sex. Read the topic properly next time Adam!! ;o)
It was on Thumb Bandits. A women, (didn't pay attention to her name) a succesful porn star on The Adult Channel, has signed a deal for a porn game, featuring her as the main character...settled?
Im not saying add loads of hardcore porn into games, but the odd naked lady, or and odd porno, wouldn't go a miss, and would make an adaquate (sp) touch in an 18 rated gangsta world enviroment.
What would be the point? The majority of gamers are in their teenage years, so the chances of them playing them would be low, especially when parents (especially those of American teenagers) complain about what their sons and daughters have been 'copying'...
The 18 certificate I feel is rightly given to GTA3. It's a brilliant game, and although I agree it's level of sexual content is quite low, there's a lot of strong language, and very realistic content in the game to give it such a high age rating, such as the blood that drains out of bodies as you continuously attack them.
So don't be too disappointed if you don't see hardcore pornography in your 18-rated games. You can't legally buy it on video anyway in the UK, let alone feature it in games!
Now, if this game was open to everyone (3+), they'll be following the wrong example and might end up killing someone in really life.
Developers rate games for a reason, and if you're under age it's probably for your own good that you don't get to play it! However, this isn't always the case because not everyone takes what they see on screen to heart, unlike nutters who do!
a) they don't want the inevitable media backlash, and
b) they know that a lot of kids might be exposed to content, even with a high certificate
Games should be rated 18 because they are complex and deal with mature issues, not because they feature a car bouncing up and down.
