I wouldn't be listning to Counting Crows if I hadn't came onto this forum and met Rasta.
I would never have gone anywhere near Requiem For A Dream, or followed up on that purchase to watch Pi, if I hadn't came onto this forum and met...Mr Happy. I think it was him, anyway.
I would never have seen American History X if it wasn't for Meka. I would have never listened to A Perfect Circle if 3 Libras hadn't been recommended to me by pb. Same with Rival Schools.
I would not be looking for OK Computer if Sheepy wasn't here.
It's a strange thing...you lot have all affected my life. My tastes in music, films...pretty much everything. On here, you can get well written opinions about many aspects of life, and they'll all come from different points of view.
Smoking, a topic I made yesterday. If I had never heard of gameaday, I would still be one of those Sheep that bleats 'Smoking bad' every five minutes. Now my opinions have changed - a good thing.
Basicaly, these forums have changed me more than you would think possible. After all, as I can't see you, have never met you, you surely can't be real people? You can't actually be considered friends because I've never met you?
I hate that. I know more about all of you than I know about most of my 'real' friends. When was the last time you debated anything remotely meaningful with your mates? If I even attempted to voice my newly revised views about smoking to them, I would be greeted with bleating. I tried to explain what I think should have happened on Sept 11th, and they cut me off with 'lets blow up those people that were cheering. Dirty arabs'.
On here I get a much more varied response. There are actually thinking people on here. And as you have as long as you want to make a post, the responses are well structured.
This place is more real than the 'real' world. In the real world, your friends will lie to you to save face. They have to, because you'll see them every day f your life for the next few years. You just don't tell them anything deep, because it is uncomfortable.
On here, we can say what we really feel, and we are safe in the knowledge that we can leave and never speak to these people again.
In short - this place rocks. You guys rock.
> what's Gosford Park about, hmm?

You doin't want to know. The boredom might very well kill you.
It was weird wasn't it? It was boring too, wasn't it?
And what's Gosford Park about, hmm?
You guys rule. Just promise me you'll never ever see Gosford Park. You'll go to sleep and never wake up. Ever.
That's why these forums rule.
It's hard to ignore some of the idiots, but you know if you keep looking you'll find a gem shining through the muck, and from that go on to discover new music, films, games, thoughts.
These forums have made me a better person.
You know what I hate thought, is the people, with no experience of doing something like this, that constantly put you down for doing so. Spending all your life in some kind of fantasy world.
Oh to be so naive. Give me a world where the most exciting things that people talk about are the lives of other people, or give me these forums, and I know what I'll choose. I still can't believe there are more people like me out there. :0)
I would say what these forums have done for me, but I really don't like repeating it over and over.
