In a Nintendo game, we are, literally, spoilt-rotten with the quality we find inside games like Super Mario SunShine for example. They're fun to play aswell. It feels great controlling Mario with all that running and jumping around. The only thing missing that stops Nintendo games from becoming a child's 'complete-dream' is the lack of edible chocolate. Sure, we saw some of the brown-stuff back in the SNES days in Mario World and Mario Kart, but those hills weren't edible.
But even without chocolate and sweets, kids still love Nintendo games.
No matter how hard you try, kids are never going to be willing to learn when you force them to. It may work in-school with most pupils, but outside of it you really don't stand a chance.
Adults are pretty-much the same too. They know they're going to be stuck inside a stuffy office for the next 30 years of their lives and that they don't want anything else to get in their way, especially when they have all those Bills piled-up waiting on their doorstep for them for when they get home. School days are far-behind them, they already know all they need to know.
However, there is one way to teach an old monkey new tricks...
But you'll need to turn the "learning" into something 'fun' and 'constructive' that they'll enjoy - like a Computer Game.
And that's where Nintendo come-in with their "Nintenducation"!
When the GameCube first-arrived here in Europe, back in May, Luigi's Mansion was amongst many, the first game you simply had to buy for your new console - even though it featured Luigi rather than Mario. It was by Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo, and that was all that really mattered - despite its incredibley-short life-span.
While many of us were complaining after completing it in less than the space of one-whole-week, others felt "inspired" by this game to step-away from their new and purple (or black) GameCubes and to do something... 'constructive'.
When we first got news on Luigi's Mansion, prior to its release, many people saw the whole idea of a GhostBusters-style ghost-vacuming game as a joke. But when we finally played it, we found that it wasn't really that bad, and we quite enjoyed it - while it lasted. I believe we enjoyed it simply because it was from Nintendo, and not because we like to... 'suck-ghost' (in a manner of speaking). After-all, the whole idea of the game wasn't really all that.... 'great'...
I have come to the conclusion that this is all part-of some big plan Nintendo have in-order to turn the kids of today into their people of tommorow.
But before I say anymore regarding my suspissions, allow me to tell you something about Super Mario SunShine...
As a GameCube owner, I have no doubt that you have already had this game since it's release date (4th October) and that you're probably well-on-your-way to completing this enjoyable adventure already, so-soon.
What initially made this game a-whole-lot-better-then Luigi's Mansion was the fact that this is 'Mario' with its huge enviroments, interactivity, and overall fun inside. All-that, aswell as the addittion of a Water Cannon pack known-as "FLUDD". And despite what you may think, FLUDD helped to make this game a success, making it one-whole-bigger-step-on from Super Mario 64.
But Mario's main objetive in the game is to run-around clearing-up all this mess he has supposedly created, while restoring peace and happiness to the land by collecting all 120 Shine Sprites. What's so great about that??
And-so, there you have it. 2 highy-anticipated Nintendo games, each starring one of the two Super Mario Brothers, both games having no real objective that 'grabs-you' in the same way that Grand Theft Auto or an RPG-Adventure does.
Obviously, Nintendo and Mr.Miyamoto had their intentions set on something-else here.. And you know what I think they were tyrying to do? Teach-us something about looking-after and respecting the areas around us - doing the woman's work around the house!
That's right! Nintendo are encouraging the kids of today to bring-out those vacums and to pick-up a can of polish and a rag so they can tidy their houses themselves, rather than leaving it all to their mothers; the people who buy Nintendo games for them. And while this strategy may free-up time for the mothers to buy Shigsy's games that the kids WILL want, the in-experienced youths of today will also be getting paid in some cases - cash-in-hand. And we all know where that money's going.... right into Miyamoto's back pocket! Nintendo win either way - and it'll even affect those older, more mature Nintendo gamers amongst-us aswell!
Damn Nintendo and their mind-controlling ways!!
And there I was thinking it was all in Yamauchi's eyes....!
Looking outside I can see that the windows need a bit of a clean...
Oh, and there's quite a lot of dog's-mess out in the back-garden too.. - and the grass does also look in-need of a quick shave....
I'm off, got things to do, you see.
> Oh yay another GAD attempt...
Blunt-orama!
