Grand theft auto 3! Second city, how the hell do you stop, the mad bombers from blowing me to king do kong.
Don't get out of the car! Just drive straight past the van where the first guy came out of: then go and chuck grenades or snipe the vans and bombers from the steps overlooking the square.
...either that or use a bullet-proof Cheetah, but that really requires a tank to get...
I did it in a tank. I completed Catelina's mission, which unlocks Pete's tank at the Army Surplus store, and then you just park it there.

I just shot one of the people and they blew up, ran past his van and out of the car park. Ran around to the steps at the north side of the car park and snipered out them all and then blew up their individual vans with grenades and rocket launchers!piece of cake
