Well, the perfect example has come, right on cue. Remember Postal, PC game? Sure you do. Isometric character game, you control a man in a raincoat, and shoot down innocent people. You surely remember this.
Well, they're making a sequel, and they're quite far in.

And to be fair... it's actually looking quite good, and sounding quite good.
The basis is this: You're a man. During the day, you have to perform four "chores", or missions. I don't really understand how it could take that long, but it's stuff like "pay money into the bank", and "collect items on shopping list".
That's odd enough... but then, doing your shopping, you're served by an arrogant swine behind a till. Do you accept that fact, pay for the goods, and leave?... or do you whip out your pistol, shoot him in the head, and leave without paying?
Sure, it's disturbing as hell, but it's a very clever game. There is a LARGE danger here of people mixing games with reality... and apparently, the graphics, especially in the human models, are supposed to be extremely detailed. For kids, with a hugely impressionable mind, to just fire a bullet through the head of anyone on a street, even if it's just a game, that could be marked on them. I've seen kids that can't understand why they can't jump as high as games characters can. It's exactly the same thing, get into the mindset that you can just pull out a gun, murder someone, and walk out, it's really going to make an impact.
That's not to say that there aren't police in this game, though, there are, quite a few. So at least the element of "killing people is wrong" is still there.
I'll probably buy this, in the same way that I bought Battle Royale. It's terribly disturbing, but that's why it's so good. Same here. Basically, if you can kill someone in their home, go to sleep, wake up the next day, and the dead body is still there lying on the ground where you shot them, that's going to hit you, hard.
And if it doesn't? For Christs sake don't play this game.

I play it all the time, it has that originality that makes you wanna come back for more. Although recently whilst playing i thought how the hell does this have the same certificate as GTA3? I guess it just shows the feelings of the times.

I only done that when i was on a mission, then i would climb in a bus (since it can take about 20 bullets before exploding) and start ramming the cop cars and going at stupidly fast speeds. While listening to so solid crew.

Wonder if SR will stock it, and if it'll get edited here (like Carmageddon did)
Yes, I know that makes me a homicidal maniac
