I remember Wookie, or Meka talking about adverts on websites the other day, the way they just pop up etc. In that topic I told my mind about them and how annoying they are.

But just now I figured it's all getting out of hand.

I was on a website when suddenly the screen started flashing black, thick lines and then went back to the original screen very quickly on and off. Then the whole page went black and an advert for Eternal Darkness was displayed. Then all went normal again.

Now if I was some person who didn't have a clue about computers I would freak, have a spasm and shout "VIRUS! VIRUS!" then call for Norton.

As much as I like Eternal Darkness that just sucked.

I read the title of the thread and thought you were on about TV adverts, in which I would have lovingly reminded you all of the Courts ad where the white haired bloke in the sparkly suit sings....

but net ads? probably all the rubbish I get through my email about casino offers.

Thing is if there were more you'd get sick of them after a while.

That happens on the gamesradar website.

I thought it was pretty effective only because I wasn't expecting it.

The advert for it on TV isn't so good either I don't think.

I actually disagree there. I would prefer to see more adverts like that, it makes a change from the norm.

As much as I thought it was an effective ad, I do think that all of those sort of ads are a bit too intrusive.

if you want to advertise PC games, the internet is ideal.

For advertising conole games, well, that's what TV is for...

I saw no blood.

This just flashed.

Adverts on websites suck, unless they are banners.

I think that's quite an effective ad. It certainly makes the PC user aware of the title.
