All of a sudden my website has developed connection problems when I attempt to upload . The green line fills and then freezes stating its attempting to connect to remote server. All my details are inputted correctly . I am using SERIF Software and they keep saying its a server problem HELP.
I checked the web space and server for you, and found no issues, so I can only assume it is something more local to yourself.
As suggested, Filezilla might be worth a try, it tends to give more information regarding errors if nothing else. It might also be worth trying without any firewalls or antivirus active, just to eliminate them from possible causes.

I use vip and previously had no problem. Must admit I upgraded Java and things went wrong shortly after. Sometimes I can upload 9 - 15 files and then everything freezes and program not responding error pops up. Getting frustrated now. Is the server, the software or my computer?????

Are you using standard or VIP hosting?
FWIW I use FileZilla as my FTP app (it's free).
Over the last few weeks I have noticed a few FTP hiccups myself on standard hosting - mostly on web server 5 (as that's where I frequently upload).
The files timeout and the transfer fails or I've seen a few very slow transfers - tiny files that take minutes to complete.
I've found that retrying later in the day the problem has gone and normal service has returned. Things seem more stable at the moment so I haven't raised a Support Ticket but I'm keeping my eye on things.

However, you give very little detail of your specific problem. I have no knowledge of Serif software ... I use CoreFTP for uploading and I've just checked all my sites and they are all accessible ... and all are on different servers! So just maybe the problem is at your 'end'?
