For me te game which does this the best has to be Silent Hill 2. I've had this game for months now but never played it until three days ago and no I'm hooked. I've read the plot on gamefaqs.com and it is better than most films never mind games!! Nothing beats opening the blood slattered door to hear your radio cracking and the weird and wonderful noises and sites. Sometimes you don't want to open a door or even move!! Well done Konami, now just make it into a film.

there is a good article, relevent to this in the official PS2 magazine about how realistic the game is that some of the guys that were actually there might be affected. The letter won "star letter". Too right strong stuff that medal of honour. ive played it before and see what they mean.

Got to agree with you there, but the Arlhem Knights level is amazing, the music and the way your squad try to help you, and you them, is just fantastic.

music is important to create an atmosphere, but silent assassin has little music yet the fear of getting discovered grips you if you get into the game

I must agree with you there Kastro, it is the bst atmosphere with 5.1 dolby didital surround system, it is just to kool to be beaten, and the D-Day level is great atmosphere but quite hard aswell.

I think the game which creates the greatest atmosphere is Medal of Honour: Frontline especially on the D-Day level . You feel like your actually there, you can hear the bullets flying past you. And on a 5.1 dolby digital surround sound system it just sounds amazing. I think it beats any game i have played for atmosphere.
However the atmosphere in Pro evolution soccer 2 is greatly advanced from the original and the crowd sound amazing espescially when they boo the away tean when they score a goal.
