It seemes Europe has finally got an online release date, a vague one, but one at least. You'll be playing :-

SOCOM: US Navy Seals
Hardware: Online Arena
Destruction Derby Online
Twisted Metal Online
Frequency 2
My Street
ATV Offroad
This is Football 2004
World Rally Championship Online

And Everquest of course.

And when?

Spring 2003

How much

£44.99 - Where you get the Ethernet Adapter, a game, and a demo disc. And the UK is first.

Be happy :D

Hehe....Xbox live Jive...I like it, well apart from the Xbox bit ;-)

Well I've already got a 100mb network installed in my house, going out through BB server so the Ethernet connection would be a better solution for me.

Still the question of subscription to the Sony network to play online, I'm sure they wont set this up for free, especially as the userbase alone in the UK is massive.....can you imagine the potential number of people actually joining that network? SWAMPED springs to mind.

Well I'll wait until further info appears, anyone got a link to this info?

Finally some Online info. I bet it will work just like XBox live Jive, hey that rhymed :). I am sure PS2 said they would release a 56K modem but if only the Ethernet modem is planned for the UK then only Broadband can be used.

Have a look at some info on XBox live as I am sure the same connections will apply to PS2 online e.g. Router, ICS or direct cable access.

Should be cool to play PS2 online especially a GTA game. Got XBox live all sorted out with my Beta test kit arriving in a few days time :)

OK...ok, but and the big but here is how?

How do we connect into this wonderful online experience? Can we use our existing ISP? Do you require Broadband?

I've already got an ISP and so would want to use that to connect.

If you require Broadband then this is gonna be bad, not everyone in the country has BB and by the looks of it some parts wont have it.

Oh and if we can just use our existing ISP then how much is the subscription to Sony going to be?

Many many questions need answering first but I'm glad steps are in progress.

The list of games sounds cool as well.....hehe Destruction Derby online :D
