ITV 1 and ITV2
Channel 4
Channel 5
You may also gat regional variations i.e. S4C
In the latter sentence , I say "Probably receive" as Digital Terrestrial TV (Via an Ariel) is nearly entirely based on you location. A retailer (or various websites)should be able to check coverage in your area. The only other thing which may impair you from receiving Digital terrestrial signals is your Ariel, a set top aerial can work as well as a rooftop Arial but it's the quality of the Arial that matters.
Good Points
1. Ideal for Bedroom, kitchen, caravan etc.
2. Ideal for just receiving the extra free channels
3. Good for when analogue TV gets switched off, sometime after 2006 (if box lasts that long)
4. Can be upgraded to receive ITV Digital Subscription package (currently £12 upwards)
5. No Contract
6. No Subscription required
7. The Box is yours, you own it.
8. Good for people who do not or can not have access to Sky digital or Cable TV.
Bad Points
1. Not enough free channels
2. Not a very good choice of Pay TV channels (compared to cable or Sky)
3. Your responsibility to repair (after 12 months)
4. Interactive features will never be as good as sky or cable.
5. Prone to interference, everything from a Microwave to a passing car.
6. A lot of people won't be able to receive the channels.
7. wait a few months or years and the technology will be cheaper and superior.
8. A SKY install and 12 Months subscription is as little as £121 per year. You get more channels, better interactive services and a superior STB (To keep also).
Personally I would not get one of these box's for main Digital television viewing unless I was unable to have SKY Digital or Digital cable.
Thanks in advance
