I love my video games but I don't know what I'd ever do without them frankly I don't know what any of us would do without them.
We'd probably be at home pacing up and down the hallway waiting for somebody to invent something that will give as all something to gnaw at.

Thankfully though we have all the latest in gaming technology, but I've often wondered what it would be like without it.
I'd imagine it'd be pretty damn boring.
We wouldn't have our great games like Legend of Mir or OoT.
We also wouldn't have our beloved Xbox.
There are some consoles we could pretty much do without.
There are some though that we could never do without.

If somebody asked me to live without video games for a fortnight I couldn't do it.
It would be like asking Laurence lwellyn to cut his hair, or MrSnuggly to do without doughnuts (Now that I would like to see)
It just not possible.
If I would get an Xbox for surviving 2weeks without videogames then I might just give it a try.
Somehow though I don't think I'd last that long. I'm 99% sure that you guys couldn't do it either.
Just be thankful that there are no shows on telly that select a member of the public who owns a games console and asks them to live without it a few weeks.

I'm glad we have video games because when I play video games it helps me take my mind of things.
For others it might mean a different way of socialising, 'cos face it a lot of fun can be had out of some multi-player games that we have.
Or like in most cases video games can be used as a pass-time.
Some people even make a living out of video games.
I admire them.
Because quite often most of the jobs that are associated with video games have a lot of hard work involed, often spending hours on end staring at a PC monitor.
It's those nerdy people that bring us great games like MGS2 or GTA3.
So we should actually be worshipping nerds, well maybe that's taking it a bit too far.

Unlike most of you guys I live in a small rural aria therefore I don't have many friends, In fact I don't think I have any proper friends.
So I guess along with you guys video games are my friends.
So what can I do with video games that I can do with my friends?
Well I can play football on them for a start.
I can even go for a ride on a bike on them too.
Ok so Video games will never substitute for real friends but right now there about the only friends next to you guys I have.
Sad isn't it?

Enough of my hard life stories.
So you could say nerds have a lot to be spoken for.
Some are useful nerds and some are just nerdy nerdy nerdy nerds.
Not all folk who, make video games are nerds, wait a minute maybe they are.
For all you know Shigsy miyamato could be a nerd.
We all know Bill Gates is a nerd so I won't comment on him.
Here's an even scarier thought. Maybe some Nerds don't even look Nerdy Bill Gates is proof of that.

I don't know about you but I think we should raise a glass to Bill Gates and His Nerdy chums *raises glass* *Drops Glass* Oh darn I spilt my lemonade all down my front.
Oh well lets try that again *Raises glass with red wine in it* *Drops his glass of red wine all over Bill Gates and his Nerdy Chums*
Oh well Never mind maybe it's fate trying to tell us something.

Thanks for reading!

Great point DM.

I don't think i could live without computer gaming. Okay i probably would be able to, physically, but when it's a rainy day and no one wants to come out, computer gaming plays a huge role in our life. There are other things to do, like playing board games, but lets be honest, when was the last time you sat down and enjoyed a good game of monolopy? See what i mean.

Computer gaming was made for these kind of scenarios. Playing inside when it's a horrible day. But nowadays it's become a huge part in society. Bringing your controller or game up to a mates house to have a huge multi-player Battle Royale. Playing Goldeneye 007, trying to sneak up to your mates and blow his head off with an Assault Rifle. This might not seem so pleasant to some people, but it's a great laugh. Planting Proximity Mines everywhere and someone re-appearing in the middle of a circle of them.

But now recently gaming has come out of our hands and into our pockets. What am i talking about? Well handheld gaming of course. The reason of gaming has changed over time. It used to be to just make money, in the arcades, then to play when it was a horrible day, now, recently, with handhelds and other home consoles, it's evolved into something that is a huge part in our social lives. Whether it's now bringing your GBA to school and meeting up for a huge Mario Kart: Super Circuit tournament at lunch time.

In the not so distant future, gaming is going to be used for learning skills. If you saw the recent Watch Dog, a racing game was used to test how much alcahol was needed before starting to get what should be over the limit. Soon many companies and most of the general public will need computer consoles, and as they evolve into even more realistic platforms, soiciaty will evolve with them.

Oh and Doughnut Monster, the big haired monster has had his hair cut :-D

Oh dear, the end is nigh.....
Once the enthusiasm starts to go, games will never be the sam again.... Or am I being too cynical?

It's highly unlikely I'd ever do it though...

Unless I get sponsors for my previously named Game Boy Advance Trust Fund, which is now the GameCube Trust Fund (an unregistered charity where people give me money so I can buy a GameCube :) )

I don't even think I could do that.

I would certainly try though!

Despite that post being pro X-box, I agree with it in principle.

It's true that most of us now probably couldn't go too long without playing a videogame. I reckon I could last about a month, but that would be at an extreme limit, and I'd only do it a) to save my life or b) if I got something good out of it.
