Hi there.

Where can I find real technical specs about the PS2 USB functionalities and the gameport (signals, voltages, pins etc...)?

Everywhere I look I only find basic specs about PS2, for example: CPU type, CPU speed, number of USB ports...

I´m going to do a thesis about cordless Bluetooth gamepads for PS2 so I really need the technical specifications.

Thanks for answering. Ola

Only other thing I can think of is trying http://www.videogamerepair.com and seeing if anyone there can give you or get the information your looking for.

Hey thanks for an interesting article, but unfortunately there were no detailed information about the protocol between the pad and the console. I am going to replace the gamepad cable with two Bluetooth radio chips so I need to know EXACTLY what is happening in the gamepad cable during play...

Thanx but it didn´t help at all. I´m looking for the pad protocol, ie the information bits that are sent between the pad and the console. Information like this one:
http://laurent.saintmarcel.free.fr/psx/

...but for PS2! that page is for PSX...

HELP me anyone!!! to find that kind of protocol info

This is one of the more indepth discussions on PS2 architecture, written a while back, but it does discuss the USB ports in some detail.

Check the following link. If this doesn't answer your questions, perhaps the forums on the same site may hold some more answers:
