At first i didn't understand how Leverkusen could go through if they win tonight, regardless of our result in Turin.
This is how it is gonna work.
P W D L F A pts
Deportivo 5 3 1 1 6 3 10
Arsenal 5 2 1 2 8 7 7
B. Leverkusen 5 2 1 2 8 10 7
Juventus 5 1 1 3 6 8 4
- Deportivo are through
- Juventus are out
- If Arsenal and Leverkusen both win, then they and Deportivo will all be on 10 points.
- Arsenal will go out because they have only scored 4 points in the games between these three teams. (A win and a draw with Leverkusen and two losses to Deportivo)
- If Leverkusen win against Deportivo tonight they will have scored 7 points against the fellow teams that are tied on 10 points.
Now my head hurts so i think that i am going for a lie down.
Nice penalty from henry...
HEHEHEHE Leverkusen just got another...Bye bye Arsenal...
> C'mon Juvé!!!!
And they wonder why anyone who doesn't support United hates them!
> Still, I can't see Leverkausen winning in Spain, can you? So Arsenal

I'm not so sure, as Deportivo - like Juventus - are 'resting' many first team players for tonight's game. So anything could happen.
I'd like to see Arsenal fail to qualify, but it is pretty un-realistic.
What have Juventus got to play for????
They cannot progress any further, and are more likely to be resting some top players for the bigger and more important matches in Serie A. And Arsenal should win safely as long as they don't do anything stupid.
But then again...
Arsenal didn't exactly look 'world class' against Villa on Sunday (with the exception of Pires' goal) and especially in defence! So maybe if Nedved, DelPiero and Trezeguet are all in Juventus' starting XI, we could see a surprise result!
Do you you ever get really nervous before a
> really important game? Sad i know, but i am already.
Yep, I know that feeling. Worse for England games, I tend to find though.
Especially that Germany - England match.
On the subject of England, don't we play Italy next Wednesday? (Minster then?)
For some reason I thought they'd compare them two at a time, in which case Arsenal have a better record against Leverkausen, so should go through, but Leverkausen have a better record against Deportivo, so they go through, but Deportivo have a better record against Arsenal, so they go through.....
Which, as you see, didn't make sense.
An equally good suggestion would be to let all three into the next round, and throw Real Madrid out of the competition for no apparent reason.
Still, I can't see Leverkausen winning in Spain, can you? So Arsenal should go through with a draw..... right?
