Everyone talks about what we think 22nd century gaming will be like. Will it be exciting? Will it be good? When will we know we are playing in the 22nd century? But none of these questions can be answered! Or can they?

At the release of the Super Nintendo and the Sega master system we couldn't beleive how good the games were and how excellent the graphics were, back then we couldn't compare them to much, if anything. Back then we probably imagined that the next generation of gaming would be 3-Dimensionaly rendered with facial character animations and sound that resembled a stlye or focus intended for the game. If we look all of our hypothesise came true, games like Grand Theft Auto 3, Metal Gear Solid 2, Goldeneye and the ISS series have brought gaming life into a fully 3-D world that is fully interactive and delivers more than we bargined for.

New predictions are being made every day and if we did a survey now on how people would play games in the Next Century we would get very contrasting views that we would agree and disagree on, but when will it ever stop?

Gaming I beleive has hit a very pleasurable era where evryone needs are catered for whilst receiving a good to excellent standard of gaming.

I beleive that if gaming continues to grow at this rate gamers will eventually become dissapointed as there will be no fun in playing games anymore. Prices of games will have to go up due to more marketing and designers will be payed more to deliver what a company is aiming for, all this will put the average gamer out of serious pocket after buying one title.

As the x-box shows, twice the power means twice the price. The ps2 launch titles were expensive but they soon came down in price but as Microsoft are known they do overcharge and they do not budge their prices for anyone!

MGS2 and GTA3 in my books are classed as next generation gaming titles and they do deliver 100% maximum pleasure and entertainment for the money you pay for them. Max Payne is a next generation title but i do not think that it delivers the goods for the oney that we pay for it, the reply value is poor and the lastability is next to none!

A next generation title should include superb graphics, Hollywood style plot and gameplay, sound that will max your Dolby 5.1 speakers and a very high reply value, the only game to include all this so far is MGS2 with GTA3 in a close second.

Gaming is at a confortable Niche and we are now recieving more quailty games for the money that we pay for them.

If MGS2 is anything to go by game designers will now be pushing for a title that pars along this game, this will take a lot more time and fewer rushed games. If all games reached this standard of gaming then i think we can safely say that we have finally got 22nd century gaming!

Console prices are ever growing but so are the umber of polygons that we receive on our TV screens but is this a good thing? I know some of you will say, "of course it is a good thing we want the best for our money", but this is not my point, what i am trying to say is, "lets not spoil a perfect blend of 22nd century gaming sound and graphics that we are receiving out of games today".

I am very pleased with the games that are out/coming out in this next coming year and the PS2 + other consoles are getting pushed to their maximum gaming limits to finally give us what we, the paying customer deserve and i beleive that we have finally hit 22nd century gaming that i think should be left at this high tempo level!

The thoughts of a PS3 and MGS3 are very exciting indeed and i agree that one day we should/will see these in the gaming market, but for now games are superb and are really worth getting excited about. What do you think? Do you think that the ever grwoing gamig industry should keep this level of gaming for longer? Do you think its time for a PS3? Or do you think that we should be happy with what we are given today and wait for tomorrow another time? I know what i want but do YOU!

I'll be 134 years old when the 22nd Century starts. I hope by then that they have something on joypads that catches the drool as I play.

I'd have to have a nurse to help out with the co-op modes, and I'd have to disable the rumble features of most games because my frail bones just wouldn't be able to take it.

TV screens would have to be a lot bigger to enable me to actually see what was going on with my failing eyesight, about half a mile across should do it, and sound would have to be beefed up a bit by the console to enable me to hear hit through my ear horn.

Gameplay would, of course, have to be very mild and relaxing, as anything even slightly exciting could possibly give me a stroke at that age. Perhaps Rez with a Mantovani backing track would be applicable, as long as it was slowed down a bit.

Perhaps some kind of Bemani game where you get to conduct an orchestra (slowly) by following a sequence of button pushes would be better for me by then.

Are we in the 22nd century of gaming or do we want more?
