There are a number of issues here.
1) Two men gained access to the runway area and have obviously breached other secure areas to get there. They could have boarded the plane, attacked other planes, anything.
2) If they got that far undetected what was to stop them bringing firearms, explosives, WMDS e.t.c that far as well. They didn't, but they could have.
3) They have escaped with the police seemingly picking up the pieces in their wake. What is worse is that SKY and CNN are both speculating that this money is heading for terrorist hands. This may be a reaction to recent events but the evidence is there, kinda. The men were asian, and previous robberies were not by asians. This suggest a new 'gang' operating. Al Queda and other terrorist networks all have large asian based organisations. The currency, $, is ideal for laundering and disposing of, essential with the increased stranglehold on terrorist funds.
The terrorist threat, pre 9/11, is something that should be taken seriously by places like Heathrow. $3 000 000 will buy virtually any weapon there is in Eastern Europe. Even if these two men are just normal crooks, they still breached security, which should not have happened. No place can be 100% secure, but this is ridiculous !
> Use Stanstead for your heists, or just to fly from?
Stanstead would be a very very badplace to try any heist, as it's Britain's "special" air port....
I blame Hollywood for glamourizing bank robbers with a master plan.
It's a sad world.
