"Help with connecting to Freeola mySQL database"

Hi,

I have created a mySQL database today, for my company, and want to link to it using php. However I have fallen at the first hurdle - I can't get it to connect.

I have done this:

$link = mysql_connect('mysql.freeola.net/', 'sr-----', 'password') or die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error());


But instead of a connection I get this:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Unknown MySQL server host 'mysql.freeola.net/' (1)

I have tried prefixing the hostname string with "http://" to no avail.

Can anyone help? Please???

Ahhh, panic over (not that anyone but me was panicking), hubby fixed it. I was trying to run my php from my machine here (being a Mac it has an Apache server), once I uploaded the code to Freeola it works like a dream.

still stuck. I haven't changed anything, but now the error message is:
Could not connect: Lost connection to MySQL server during query

Argghh. I'm on a tight deadline with this, so any help will be really really really appreciated.
