Freeola are really good at filtering out the rubbish mails but today the spammers have found a c***k in the armour, no doubt Freeola will be on the case and welding the gate shut again. In the bad old days we got loads of spam offering body part enlargements, now am getting older ( and the spamers seem to know ) they send out adverts for Viagra!

I have my Gmail account linked to Outlook Express, but spam is filtered out by Gmail before it's sent to my computer. As a result, I almost never see spam. Gmail's spam filter is excellent. However, if I check my Gmail on their website instead of through Outlook Express, there are 400+ messages in my spam box, despite the fact that the spam box deletes any messages in it which are over 30 days old.

I remember once receiving a spam email which looked like an authentic Paypal email requesting account details. That's the only time I have ever received one like that which looked like a Paypal one, and that was before I hadf a Paypal account. Now I'm a Paypal user, and i don't get any! But I know how to tell phishing attempts anyway. In particular with Paypal: they won't refer to you as "user" or "member" etc. They will always give your full name. That's only one way to tel lthough, and is probably one of the easiest to spot.

To tell the truth, I've been receiving more spam on my mobile than by email recently, but like I said, that's because of Gmail's excellent spam filter. I received three text messages the other day, all from the same number, all written in Spanish. They don't appear to be selling anything though. Either it's someone just being a moron, or the phone has been nicked and the thief is just sending out messages to rake up the phone bill of the owner.
