Theres an intro at the begining of the book which explains it all (at least at the beginning of the Animal Farm book I have) why not just paraphrase that?

I'd have to guess at George Orwell's take on communist rise in

I take it this is AS level (or Scottish equivalent) coursework.

Well I did my English coursework on the spectacularly interesting "Comment on the use of light in 'Cat on a hot tin roof'"

Boring? You bet it was. Amazingly I managed to write over 3500 words for it. The problem was it was only allowed to be 3 pages... Those poor naive fools at the exam board had set a page limit. My essay was handed in with 0.5cm page margins on all sides, and a nice legible font size 8.. it might have been 7.5 by the final, final draft!

A summary of animal farm.. well Stryke hit on the obvious thing, you know Communism yadda yadda yadda allegory blah blah failings and so on. If you read between the lines, and not many people read it to this extent, it's a story about some animals who take over a farm. I'm warning you, insight that deep might not be appreciated by some narrow-minded teachers :-)

Well my orignal plot summary was about 1000 words :)

More of what the story is about, no symbolism yet.

Can't go over fecking 1800 words or I fail :P

A plot summary in 50 words???? That's not much!?!

Animal Farm was writen in the 1940s at a time when the rise of Communism amoung the Eastern Baltic states was becoming a serious concern to the stability of the Capitalist world.

In this book, Orwell creates an interpretation of the power struggle between Trotsky and Stalin following the death of Lenin. The countries of the real world have been replaced by farms, the capitalist leaders by humans, and the labour force of countries by animals.

Sheepy, if you're still online and would like me to continue, just let me know...
