Why is it that whenever you join a really long queue, it immediately gets shorter as you progress? This happened to me three times on Mothers Day. I join the queue and there's 30 people in it, by the time I get to the end it's only got 5 in it. Why is that? It really annoys me how people can get away with queueing by just standing behind me.
Any explanations?

I did that. At my school hatch, I always seem to be the last person in the queue, right up until I get served. Strange.
