I was browsing through some older posts on this forum, from before my time here. And I came across something surprising and very interesting. Scroll down untill you see the user-name 'David Jacobs', and read his tagline.

Yeah. I forgot to mention that I secretly work for Nintendo and knew the release date earlier than everyone else, and posted it here by mistake. Not.
I dunno? I changed my username a bit back and it didn't change it on all my posts. But then a few weeks ago, after the release date announcement, I changed my tagline to that. Prehaps this changed it on all my posts, even the old ones. Anyway I don't know what it's about!

When you change your user name (with the edit your details link), everything you posted with the old name wil still have the old name next to it.
When you change your tagline, the new one is shown on all your posts, before and after the change.
Sadly, we'll have to stick with mystic meg for all our psychic shenana... schenaneg... shinani... stuff
