PS2 TV - A Reality
SCE talks of official PS2 TV tuner and recording function
As OPS2 went to press, Sony Computer Entertainment made an official announcement regarding plans to release a TV tuner for the PS2 enabling users to watch content and record it to an internal hard disk drive. "Our thinking is that it would be more convenient to enjoy networking and manage broadcasting as well," said Kenichi Fukanaga, anSCE spokesperson.
Fukanaga also hinted at the possibility that a new model of PS2 with a built-in tuner and hard disk drive will be introduced at some stage soon.

Bit of a strange diversion to take, no?

Sounds quite interesting, but I don`t know if its something I`d use all that often. If I do ever buy a hard disk, then I`ll probably be paranoid about using up the space on it, and always reserve it for game material and not a lot else. I dunno though really, I guess its something to keep an eye on though. Is it likely to make it to Europe?

I guess it takes them one step closer to total domination of our home entertainment systems :D
