Konami are taking their award-winning Pro Evolution Soccer series to the States, and are taking on the big boys.
Tired of the FIFA Football series taking all the dollar in America, Konami have decided to take their masterful Pro Evolution Soccer series overseas, the first time an ISS game has gone to the USA since the days of the SNES. The latest title, Pro Evolution Soccer 2, is currently doing mega-business over here, and under the guise of Winning Eleven, does huge numbers in Japan - FIFA barely gets a look in. The only sports the Americans are interested in, however, are crappier versions of Rugby and Rounders.
"Soccer [he means football - Ed] fans around the world have declared Winning Eleven as their favourite soccer [football] game. Now, North American soccer [football] fans have a chance to see what they've been missing," said Robert Goff, Product Manager for Konami America. "Winning Eleven elevates the genre to new levels with superior visuals and exciting gameplay, setting the standard by which all others will be judged." Yep, we know - we've been playing it for about 5 years now. Unlucky. And it's called football, not soccer.
Whether or not the Americans will warm to the Pro Evolution Soccer series or not remains to be seen - sales of FIFA pale in comparison to EA's Madden titles. Konami may have to make fundamental changes to the Pro Evo game too, such as adding huge suits of armour to all the players, making them speak in code and having the commentators talk about 'top-heading the orb into the goal-box.' Touchdown!

Be interesting to see how it does compared to the other big US sports.
Konami will have to add things like "Time outs" so they can go and shove on a cheese dog to see them through it.
Because he's not 2 he's still 1 if you get what I mean...:-)
> Any chance of changing your name to Pro Evo 2 now its out?
I thought about it....seriously i did. But then i would have to get SR to change the top posters bit and so on.
Oh well.
:D
Good luck.
It'll be tough.
