For fans of Championship Manager, we all know it can get a bit addictive, but we all achieve varying degrees of success. But don't you always know someone who plays it that boasts of their marvellous achievements, lists their squad like a Who's Who of top football players from around the globe, and makes outrageous claims of their CM playing excellence.

I think I've found the most outrageous boast ever here on good ol' SR, as part of this review for the as yet un-released CM4 (wtf?)

74 season without losing a single game? LOL! Yeah right! I don't think the game even allows you to play 74 seasons, and having the time to play 74 seasons? Did you even eat?

One more thing: If he reckons he went 74 seasons without losing as *WAIT FOR IT* Lincoln City, and there are about 45 games a season (what will all the cups he was winning), then he claims he went 3,330 matches undefeated!!

*sighs*

I have also been a single season without defeat, And even though I did win all the major trophies available to me I was Liverpool, although this was about 12 seasons in and most of the real players are past it.

I played 76 games without defeat, but I had a lot of lucky draws in the European cup and only won the premier by 2 points.

that is impossible, the game will cheat just to ensure that won't happen. I have been undefeated for a season but 3330 games takes the mick. Its impossible. And yes the game does go that far. Ortega is well past the 2080 barrier, which is quite frankly obsessive.

On CM2 I took Aston Villa on a near unbeaten season once...

I signed the whole of the French and Dutch under-21 teams, who matured into brilliant players.

Then they all got injured and I lost lots and got sacked.

Some loyalty to the manager who won Villa every single cup (including European Cup) in one season.

By strategic use of two save games, it's possible to go for an unlimited time without defeat.

However, when Lincoln City come up against the likes of Man Utd or Liverpool, I imagine there is a lot of restarting the game involved. Also included in making this incredible run is use of the "Add manager" tool both for obtaining new players, and corrupting the squad of the team you're going to play against.

Simple. Dumb, and massively boring, but it can be done.

Heh, I went 22 years with PSV Eindhoven and that took long enough...

Am I in some sort of strange time-warp? It's just, I didn't think CM4 was released until February...
