I happened to play a recent Final Fantasy game, and I wasn't really into it at all, they are all following the same old guidelines now and not being new. different and exciting, plus I found the constant FMV sequences quite annoying, some were very impressive, but I actually wanted to play the game instead of see all of those over and over.
I do like some recent RPG's don't get me wrong, I truly enjoyed Zelda 64. But I believe the fancy graphics are taking over my favorite gaming type, I really don't want this to happen, and I'm hoping squaresoft are going to come up with some new ideas, the GC Final Fantasy game looks great, but I think Final Fantasy shouldn't be their only concern, there should be more varied RPG's on the market, Shadowrun on the SNES is a perfect example of this, that game had me hooked for ages, and it took me a while to figure out the best way to defeat Drake, and thats still not the end of that game!! But I'm getting side-tracked.
One last thing is, Harvest Moon. A truly imaginative and FUN game to play, I'd love to see that on a next gen console, who would have thought farming was so cool?
Anyway, I'd love to get some responses to this and if anyone agrees of infact disagrees and can point me in the direction of great RPG games on next gen consoles, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks for reading and I strongly reccomend you all try to hunt down a copy of Shadowrun, Secret Of Mana and Harvest Moon on the SNES, you won't be dissapointed.

(Maybe its the top down 2D graphics I miss so much? :) )
