Tony Hawk. There's a name that all people in the skateboarding and gaming world have heard of. Tony Hawk has a talent of skateboarding, starngely enough, and Activision spotted that, and got him to sign a contract for them to make a game featuring him and all his skateboarding buddies. Since then, we've all had more of a reason to sit chuffed in front of our screens and enjoyed playing as some guys that go around in baggy trousers. Brilliant!
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games have always been top notch. The first 2 in the series were 2 of the best games we saw on the PS1, and also the N64, so the 3rd installment was eagerly awaited by PS2 fans everywhere, even by the ones that don't have a clue what a skateboard is. You'll enjoy Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, no matter what kind of games you like.
The game looks really good, and you can play it with mates. Plus, it lasts for ages as well. Career Mode lets you take control of a skater of your choice, and take them through various courses, doing various tasks and collecting things. All the old things to do in a level from the old Tony games are still there, but there are some new things too. Some of the challenges can be funny, like knocking foremen into pools of water, or getting some people's tongues unstuck from poles. Amusing, don't you agree? Yes, well, onto the next bit. The game's looks are really good as well. The skaters actually look like real skaters and the courses are big, yet, with no 'gaming fog' which was a big thing in the previous editions of the game. So, good looking, and it can last you a while. Also, it's a great game to play, and enjoyable at the same time. Not bad overall.
Once career mode has had some things done in it, you can unlock player videos, in the DVD bit, and also unlock some new characters and things that help you create courses and characters in create mode, which may I say, rocks! The videos are mighty fine too!
Multiplayer is an option needed in all games that want to be good. Luckily, this game has a multiplayer, and it's actually a good one. You can go any skaters and on any courses that are in career mode, and once Sony announce their online plans, the game will be able to be played over the net with your mates, and even with people in different countries. THPS3 is making good use of the PS2 and it is a lasting game as well. A must buy for all of you.... that is, if you don't have it already.
Brill game.
10/10.

Put this in the Review section of this site and not the chat forum thats where you have a chance to win GAD. This is for discussing issues to do with PS 2.
