I have every WrestleMania in my vast video collection, and here I will present a short rundown of the best part of every WrestleMania.

WrestleMania
----------------------
March 31, 1985
Madison Square Garden

Almost every match was about 2 or 3 minutes long, except for the high-key bouts, which lasted about 10. The main event pitted Hogan and Mr T .vs. Roddy Piper and Mr Wonderful. Hogan and T won, and were congratulated by such celebrities as Liberache and Cindy Lauper.

WrestleMania 2
----------------------
April 7, 1986
The Los Angeles Sports Arena (Part 1)
Rosemont Horizon (Part 2)
Nassau Coliseum (Part 3)

This event took place in three locations, with many matches taking place at each, but they were all topped off by Hogan .vs. King Kong Bundy in a Steel Cage for the World Title Main Event. Hogan won - a classic match indeed.

WrestleMania 3
----------------------
April X, 1987
The Pontiac Silverdome

This event holds an indoor attendance record which still stands today. 93,173 fans filed in to watch Hulk Hogan do battle with Andre The Giant for the World Title!

WrestleMania 4
----------------------
April X, 1988
Trump Plaza

WrestleMania pitted the first single elimination tournament by the WWF, in which 16 superstars would battle to see who the World Champion should be. It came down to Macho Man Randy Savage and Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, and in the end it would be Savage going home with the gold.

WrestleMania 5
----------------------
April X, 1989
Trump Plaza

The two men who had been arguing for a long time, Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage would fight for supremacy, with the inevitable kicking in and Hogan regaining the title that he claimed he deserved.

WrestleMania 6
----------------------
April X, 1990
SkyDome

The same arena as where the wrestlers will battle tonight. Hulk Hogan had a collosal bout with the Ultimate Warrior, ending with Warrior finally defeating his friend, and a massive embrace in the ring with fireworks etc. Edge was in attendance as a teenager, and that was the night that he decided he wanted to be a wrestler, funnily enough.

WrestleMania 7
----------------------
April X, 1991
Los Angeles Sports Arena

Just as it appeared that all of Hulk Hogan's defences were down, he fought back at WM7, defeating Sgt Slaughter to recapture the World Title from the said 'evil' superstar, securing the place of all the Hulkamaniacs in the WWF's top spot.

WrestleMania 8
----------------------
April X, 1992
Hoosier Dome

In a Double Main Event, Randy Savage defeated Ric Flair to win the World Title, and Hulk Hogan bested Sid Viscious by disqualification, thanks to Papa Shango (aka Godfather) interfering. This was replied to by the Ultimate Warrior returning from the darkness to help his fallen comrade. There was controversy surrounding this match, as Sid kicked out of Hogan's Legdrop, something he was not supposed to do, and apparently it was a sign to show that he hated Vince McMahon.

WrestleMania 9
----------------------
April X, 1993
Caesars Palace

This was the first open-air WM, and it was funny because all the commentators like JR, Gorilla Monsoon and even little Todd Pettingill dressed up in togas, as the theme was Roman. Yokozuna beat Bret Hart in the main event to win the World Title, until Hulk Hogan ran down to help Bret and challenged Yoko there and then! Yoko accepted and the match began...and ended some 13 seconds later with Hogan capturing the title yet again.

WrestleMania 10
----------------------
April X, 1994
Madison Square Garden

Bret Hart defeated Yokozuna to become the World Champion in a Triangle Match Tournament, and post-match loads of wrestlers came out to congratulate him. Owen Hart came down, but changed his mind and walked back, with a horrible look on his face.

WrestleMania 11
----------------------
April X, 1995
Hartford Civic Center

In a Double Main Event, Diesel beat Shawn Micheals to keep his World Title, and Laurence Taylor defeated Bam Bam Bigelow in a Football Rules bout. Salt N Pepper were guests, and there was a memorable chess match between Bob Baclund and an American stay named Nicholas (can't remember his last name).

WrestleMania 12
----------------------
April X, 1996
Arrowhead Pond

This event hosted the infamous 'Iron Man Match' that so many these days talk about and remember. Bret Hart outlasted Shawn Micheals for an hour, and the score was still 0-0, until Gorilla Monsoon implemented Sudden Death, and within two minutes, Micheals had won his first World Title.

WrestleMania 13
----------------------
April X, 1997
Rosemont Horizon

For the World Title, The Undertaker bested Sid Viscious to capture his first title reign. Other matches of mention: Bret Hart forced Stone Cold into submission by making him bleed so much that he passed out, and referee Ken Shamrock had to call the match off. Ahmed Johnson and the Legion of Doom took on the Nation of Domination successfully in a Chicago Streetfight, using such weapons as an actual kitchen sink!

WrestleMania 14
----------------------
April X, 1998
Fleet Center

In the weeks building up to the event, Mike Tyson was announced to be the referee, and got into a few scrapes with Stone Cold, forcing him to join the side of the opponent, Shawn Micheals, and whence forth, D-X. However, it was all a clever plan, as at WrestleMania, Tyson counted for Austin when he pinned Micheals, and then blasted Micheals when he confronted him about it. This match injured Micheals' back for the last time, forcing him to hang up the boots...permanently.

WrestleMania 15
----------------------
April X, 1999
First Union Center

Firstly, Mankind beat The Big Show to become the referee for the main event, but was beaten so badly that he could not fulfil it. Following the match, Big Show destroyed Vince McMahon, prompting police to arrest him. In the end, Earl Hebner refereed the main event between then champion The Rock and Stone Cold, in which Austin captured his second World Title.

WrestleMania 16
----------------------
April X, 2000
Arrowhead Pond

Vince McMahon procalimed to 'make it right' with a Fatal Four Way Match for the World Title. Vince backed The Rock, Shane with the Big Show, Stephanie with Triple H and the returning Mick Foley would be backed by Linda. Big Show was sent packing first, followed quickly by Foley, leaving Rock and Triple H to battle out. Thanks to the evil Vince turning on Rock, Triple H was able to retain the title, but Rock was able to retain some dignity by laying a Rockbottom on Stephanie.

WrestleMania 17
----------------------
April X, 2001
The Reliant AstroDome

This event set a record for the event, at an astounding 67,925 fans in the arena! It was clear that people wanted to see a face Rock fight a face Stone Cold, but our dreams were once again crushed as Stone Cold turned on the fans and aligned himself with Vince McMahon to capture another World Title. Post-match, they destroyed Rock with chairs and drank over his fallen body.

I hope you enjoyed reading my comprehensive guide to WrestleMania. Enjoy this years one, which will undoubtedly make history, crack a beer, grab some food and just enjoy the event!

My favourite wrestlemaias were X and XVI. For the ladder matches, both times, despite their differences.

Too bloody right. There's nothing like seeing Shawn Micheals fly down in a hail of sweat from a hard right hand by Tyson :0)

Why they then laid an 'Austin 3:16' T-Shirt on his body is beyond me. It must have been a figutive statement of sorts I suppose.
