I'm just wondering if anyone has had any problems with their XBox when watching DVD's?

Some people complained of lyp-synch problems when watching films on their PS2, does this same problem appear on the XBox?

Anyone?

I've not watched any DVD's on mine yet. I have a dedicated player, and a PS2... doesn't seem much point in splashing out another £30 on the remote for Xbox, I'm sure you'll agree!

I've never understood the need for Zoom on DVD playback. Surely only of use if you're watching porn?

Then again - who want's to look at pixellated, square nipples?

Hi,

Just a few questions to add:

How does the video & picture quality compare with a £200-£300 DVD player? (i.e. a good brand name DVD player)

Also have all of your DVD movies worked flawlessly? In the past some low quality DVD players failed to run movies like the Matrix or even Toy Story properly, how does the XBox handle it?

Cheers for the info.

Wonder if that's Sony's doing? I think they were involved in DTS development; it may even be their invention.

If so, I wouldn't be surprised if they refused Microsoft a licence.

I have a Pioneer 525 DVD player and I'm thinking of selling it to pay for part of an XBox. Does anyone know if the XBox is as good as or near the video quality of my current player and also is it as compatible with DVD movies? i.e. will it play them all without any problems?

Has any tried a wide range of DVD movies on the XBox?

I don't mind if the XBox doesn't have DTS as I don't use DTS at the moment, and I'm unlikely for some time. I think that seeing as the XBox is primarily a games machine and none of the games will ouput DTS sound, Microsoft thought there wouldnt be any point of having that as an ouput option.

Cheers for the help!
