How many of you use the import scene? I myself, prefer the import scene than the domestic scene.

Why? I hear you say. Easy! You can often pick up the latest releases a good 6-12 months before the domestic release. Obviously, with the Japanese releases, there is the language barrier to consider, but I've found the language barrier to be somewhat minimal when it comes to certain genres, such as; Beat-Em-Up's, Platform, Racing Sims etc.

Albeit the games maybe a little more expensive due to import tax and any other overheads, but surely it's a small price to pay?

It saddens me when the domestic market is saturated with overated titles such as the Tomb Raiders and FIFA's of the world. Especially, when there are so many quality titles, that are never going to see the light of day here.

I mean, Giant Gram 2000, one of the finest wrestler's developed will never see an official release here. Instead, we're stuck with dross like ECW Hardcore and WWF Attitude.

There's no justice!

I used to buy import games all of the time. I had a Japanese Megadrive, way before they were released in this country. I also got loads of games ages before they ever came out here. However, when it was officially launched here, the import market dried up a bit, and I didn't bother with it after that. My Megadrive would also play the official British games, but only if I held the on button in position, as the Japanese carts had a hole in one side, and the megadrive had a little piece of plastic that used to hold the games in place, so if you put a British cart in, with no hole in the side, the little plastic bit would not fit into place, so the on power switch would slide back to off again. So I wedged a little piece of paper in to fix this problem. Eventually, however, British games added extra code, so that they wouldn't run on Japanese machines, so I bought a SNES.
(What was the question again?)
