Although Xbox has just come out here (U.K.) i wuold say that this will be a great battle for who will be the best. The PS2 has been out for a while so lots of people have already spent there money to get it and i think not many people will get the Xbox right now but maybye in a month or two i theink the Xbox will get the better.

I haven't got an Xbox so I wouldn't be able to compare, and I'm not in the business of making rash judgements and ineducated decisions. Before I can answer your question I would need to play an Xbox, so please deliver one to my house by Wednesday

Here are my views on each console:

PS2 - Got off to a great start, having a year to flock and all, yet they set their system specifications way too low. It was quite possible that there would have been impending competition around the time of PS2's release, and so I would have upped the spec a little, to make it run faster especially and try and update the graphics. But that ship has sailed and what's done is done. They have a nice collection of games and it now looks as though the console is settling down to a nice £149.99 price when the GameCube is released, which will attract many customers, including myself.

X-Box - The X-Box launched recieved very little or no hype in my view, and was very nonchalant in the way that it just came out. We knew the release date months in advance, but it just lacked what the PS2 had at it's release. Maybe we're all still fresh off the PS2, I don't think I'll ever know, it's just a feeling. I also think that it's far too early (3 days passed since the X-Box has been released) for us to judge the X-Box, as there hasn't been time for it to muster up a good collection of games (about 60 or 70 at least). It's untested, and that scares many people away from buying it, but it that is our attitude, we will never know whether or not it is any good.

hhmm, quite a few of these "ps2 vs XBOX" topics in this forum.
although - The PS2 has pretty much already won, it's been out for over a year, sold millions of games and consoles, the XBOX although it's a great machine, really was left too late, or too early, which ever way you look at it.
If the console had been released next year maybe the PS2 market would start getting bored of the machine, the top games have been released, everyone was looking forwrd to MGS2 before the console was released, that kinda prooves the games have guaranteed sucess.
The competition should be between the XBOX and GC, they're being released around the same time, i'm hoping they do aswell as eachother, i'd like to see both consoles produce good games, looking forward to my mates getting GTA3 and HALO on it! DOA3 looks amazing, but it's too easy.
GC: I havn't really played on it, i'm a fool, theres a couple in my local town, but I hardly ever go in game shops.
right.
